About

Design Canada is a feature length documentary film that highlights the contributions of a group of 1960s graphic designers, who shaped the identity of a nation and its people. Directed by Greg Durrell, the documentary explores how a group of European modernists shaped Canada's national identity in the 1960s. From the creation of the iconic maple leaf flag to the design of corporate logos, the film highlights the ways in which graphic design has transcended mere aesthetics to become a vital part of Canada’s history and self-expression. Design Canada debuted at #1 in the documentary category on Apple TV, was an honourbale mention by the National Post's films of the year for 2018, and was purchased by the CBC in 2019.
